Pastor Christopher Johnson, who was a guest on a current affairs programme, discussing plans by the government to ban corporal punishment, said he was speaking on discipline in schools in a broader sense, not just beating. He said that  policies that have hindered schools from turning back students with some types of hairstyles, and those that would restrict schools from locking out students for uniform breaches, are placing too much restrictions on educators , who feel that their hands were tied.
