The man who rammed his car into a security barrier at the US Capitol on Friday and killed a cop before being fatally shot by police has been identified as Noah Green, who was a Nation of Islam devotee from Indiana, according to reports and his social media account. The 25-year-old, who had been living in Virginia, described himself as a Follower of Farrakhan on his Facebook page, in reference to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
Noah Green, a 25-year-old former Christopher Newport University football player, rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol. The attacked killed one of them before Green, who was believed to be mentally ill, was shot to death by police.

ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS, Va. – Federal agents were at the Green family home Saturday, piecing together what unfolded less than 24 hours after Noah Green was shot and killed by police.
The 25-year-old was identified by officials as the person who rammed his vehicle into a Capitol barricade and lunged at police, killing one officer and wounding another.
In a Washington Post article published Saturday, Green’s family says he “was not a terrorist by any means,” and he “appeared to have been suffering from depression and potential mental illness.”

(Washington, D.C) (AP)- The man who rammed a car into two officers at a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol on Friday that left one officer dead before he was shot to death by police, had been suffering from delusions, paranoia, and suicidal thoughts.
The officer who was killed has been identified as William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Capitol Police force. According to acting U.S. Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman, Evans joined the department in 2003 and was a member of its first responders unit. Evans a father of two is being remembered by family and friends for his caring nature along with his reputation as a jokester. The other officer was in stable condition as of Friday evening.

On the football field at Christopher Newport University in Virginia, Noah R. Green was No. 21, a dependable and good-natured, if soft-spoken, presence in the defensive backfield. Off the field, he was laser-focused on Black economic empowerment, counseling teammates on financial management and plotting a career helping close the racial wealth gap.
But by late March, after a bruising pandemic year that friends and family said left him isolated and mentally unmoored, Mr. Green’s life appeared increasingly to revolve around the Nation of Islam and its leader Louis Farrakhan, who has repeatedly promoted anti-Semitism.
