VANCOUVER The guilty verdicts have been upheld for two men serving life sentences in connection with the province s deadliest gang shooting, a B.C. Court of Appeal judge ruled Thursday. A judgment posted online provided few details about the decision, saying that the reasons are being withheld for now because there is an order sealing the court file to protect confidential information. However, the judges wrote, None of the grounds of appeal that would have resulted in a new trial are upheld, and the verdicts of guilt are affirmed. An abbreviated version of the reasons will be posted when available.

Frontline medical workers at three Army bases in Bavaria became the first in the U.S. military community in Europe to be vaccinated against the coronavirus Monday, officials said. Military and civilian health care providers and first responders who work at clinics on Ansbach, Grafenwoehr and Vilseck received a first dose of the Moderna vaccine, developed by a Massachusetts biotech firm and awarded emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration on Dec. 18.
5 KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – It’s been an up and down year for the KMC Onstage Theater. The Ups: the performances of the shows which actually made the stage. The Downs: having to cancel shows due to COVID restrictions, including a youth show on opening night in March 2020.
“This was a very tough year for theaters throughout the world and for us in the KMC,” said Eric Danzeiser, KMC Onstage director. “These volunteer directors worked so hard to make their shows a success. They overcame numerous obstacles to bring together an incredible team of volunteers, costumers, choreographers, builders, painters, actors, technicians to create a work of art. Then everything stopped because of COVID.”
New coronavirus travel restrictions, curfew announced for thousands of soldiers in Europe
Logenstrasse, near the soccer stadium and train station in Kaiserslautern, Germany, is empty during a curfew imposed because of the coronavirus in the spring of 2020. The streets soon will be devoid of most Americans in the evenings as the Kaiserslautern-based 21st Theater Sustainment Command has imposed a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew on personnel and family members, starting Jan. 4, 2021.
