Fresh plea for help to catch killer of West Norfolk hairdresser after 25 years  | Updated: 10:54, 04 April 2021 Detectives have made a fresh appeal for help to solve the murder of a West Norfolk hairdresser 25 years ago. The body of Russell Marsom, who was 29, was found in a water-filled ditch off the A10 at Milton, near Cambridge, on March 31, 1996. And officers say they are particularly keen to speak to members of the LGBTQ+ community who may have felt unable to come forward at the time. Russell Marsom s body was found in a ditch near Cambridge 25 years ago. Mick Flavin, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Your information, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it, could help build a bigger picture and bring Russell’s killer(s) to justice.”

Russell Marsom murder: Police issue fresh appeal in unsolved case

Police are looking for fresh leads into the murder of Robert Marsom in 1996 (Cambridgeshire Police) Police are appealing to the LGBT+ community for help solving a gay man’s murder on the 25th anniversary of his death. Russell Marsom, 29, was found dead in a water-filled ditch next to the A10 in Milton, near Cambridge, on 31 March, 1996. He ran a hairdressing business in his home village of Heacham, Norfolk, but regularly travelled to Cambridge for the LGBT+ nightlife. He is believed to have gone clubbing on the night of his murder. His partially-clothed body was found by a dog walker. A post-mortem examination showed he had drowned, but exactly how he ended up in the ditch has never been determined.
