The church as a polis shapes virtue through allegiance to the king

The apostle Paul talks citizenship when he is talking kingdom or talking church. Notice these words in Philippians:
Phil. 1:25 Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in faith,
Phil. 1:27 Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel,

I had every intention of posting on Daniel Lamoureux s book last Thursday. Diving once again into the questions of science and Christian faith.
And then I couldn t.
I have seen Micah 6:8 quoted several times in the last few days.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
To top it off, I picked up an old Reader s Digest from January 2009 (randomly out of a large stack in our bathroom, but perhaps the hand of the Spirit was at work). This issue has a feature on advice for President Obama as he began his first term and one of those asked to supply advice was the Reverend Billy Graham (p 165). I quote just a bit of Graham s advice here:

William Witt’s fifth chapter in
Icons of Christ, “Beginning with Genesis,” offers a brief exposition of salient factors in Genesis 1-3 and then states and responds to Grudem’s reading of Genesis 1-3.
He’s right: the creation account is used by both sides of this debate, one side for equality and mutuality and the other side for hierarchy and subordination. Which is more consistent with the text?
