CHICO, Calif. - A time capsule was found at the new site of the new Jesus Center in Chico by construction workers.
A Slater & Son crew was working at the old Work Training Center on Fair Street, tearing it down to make way for a new Jesus Center Renewal Center. While they were tearing down a wall they found the time capsule.
Inside were various items, including an old newspaper. Tom Johnson s name and phone number were also inside of the time capsule. Johnson used to be a staff member at the Work Training Center.
Butte County Public Health said the several hundred Covid-19 cases reported over the weekend are too large for Public Health staff to confirm and report. The county skipped its usual case number update on Monday. Public Health officials say they will work to verify the number of cases over the next coming days. But since the start of this month, the county has added 746 new cases.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said California can expect another 390,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine next week. In the North State, the wait could be a bit longer. Enloe Medical Center officials said it expects to receive its first 5,000 doses of the vaccine possibly by the end of the week. Mercy Medical Center in Redding hopes to see the first batch as early as today or Wednesday.
