One person was killed after suffering what police described as blunt-force trauma wounds during an assault early Friday morning in a Lubbock bar s parking lot. Police on Friday said 66-year-old Jesus Villa was pronounced dead at Covenant Medical Center following the assault at CC s Bar and Grill in the 1600 block of 50th Street. The Lubbock Police Department received a call regarding an assault shortly after 12:30 a.m. at a residence in the 400 block of 39th Street, according to a police news release. Upon arrival, involved parties indicated Villa was assaulted in the parking lot of CC’s Bar and Grill and transported by private vehicle to the residence on 39th Street. Individuals attempted to tend to Villa’s blunt-force trauma wounds, but found that the injuries needed to be treated at a hospital, according to the release.
