Christ United Methodist Church Annual Chili Supper Feb. 20
I don t know about you but this weather is perfect for a hot bowl of chili. Hopefully, by this weekend the weather will be better and the roads in better shape for the Christ United Methodist Church annual chili supper this Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021.
The United Methodist Men will be serving up some hot chili from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church located at 5204 South Rondo Road.
Adults are $10, children $5, the chili supper includes a dessert too and carry-outs are also available. The annual chili supper will benefit the Curtis Cornett Scholarship Fund. Since they started doing this a few years ago I haven t missed one yet. The chili is so good! I hate to admit it but I m sort of picky when it comes to great-tasting chili.

Drive-through Ash Wednesday service at Christ United Methodist Church
GALION Christ United Methodist Church will host a drive-through Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
Rev. Heather Runser McLeod said the service will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church, which is located at 130 E. Walnut Street in Galion.
McLeod explained how the service will be conducted.
“Worshippers will slowly circle the church building, pausing a few times to participate in a simple activity that will prompt specific prayers,” McLeod said. “The final station will include the imposition of ashes. Normally, the pastor would mark the cross on everyone’s foreheads. This year, a small cup of ashes will be provided, and the pastor will bless you from a socially safe distance while you place the ashes on your own forehead or hand and/or those in the car with you all without leaving the safety and comfort of your own vehicle.“

BRAZOS COUNTY, TX â New Victory Temple Church in College Station is just about ready to start its own community garden. I m just excited to see what God is going to do because it s definitely obvious that it s not us. It s him doing it, Renee Alsandor, minster of New Victory Temple Church said.
Before the garden s inception, Renee noticed three issues in the neighborhood: One was the limited access to fresh produce. Her father traveled back and forth from Spring to a food pantry to deliver food to a church member with severe health issues.
