Christmas Eve service
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host a Christmas Eve Parking Lot Service at 6 p.m., Dec. 24. The service will include a meditation from the Rev. Seth Stout, singing, and the lighting of battery-operated candles. All are welcome. Park in the lot at 1127 Beatty Ave., and please plan to remain in your vehicles for the duration of the service.
Lakeland Parish
Lakeland Parish (Freeport, Mount Carmel & West Chester) United Methodist Church is hosting a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m., Dec. 24, in the parking lot of the Freeport Press - by the town square.
âThe Tableâ meal set for today BUNKER HILL â Bunker Hill United Methodist Church will host their free Family Drive Thru Meal at âThe Table,â at 9863 Winchester Ave. in Bunker Hill. Whether youâre in need of a hot meal for your family, or just tired of fixing meals every day, all are welcome. Plan now to join them 4:30-6:30 p.m. the first and third Friday of each month.
WACC clothing closet offered on Thursdays
MARTINSBURG â The Winchester Avenue Christian Church clothing closet is open 10 a.m. to noon every Thursday, with free clothing for men, women and children. The church is located on the corner of Winchester Avenue and Stephen Street. Us the entrance on Stephen Street. Handicap accessible. Parking is available on Winchester Avenue across from the church. Face masks and social distancing required.
The capacity is 30 people (this does not include ministers, presiders and ushers), with 2 metres distancing and mandatory masks. Parishioners must call the office to register before attending mass.
Christmas Eve masses on Thursday, Dceember 24, at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.
Christmas Day masses on Friday, December 25 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Boxing Day mass will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 5 p.m.
New Year’s Eve mass will be held Thursday, December 31 at 7 p.m.
New Year’s Day mass will be held Friday, January 1 at 10 a.m.
Grace United Church There will be two in-person services on December 24th, with a capacity limit of 30 people at each.

The religious communities of southwest Kansas are feeling the reaches of the COVID-19 pandemic as some are cancelling in-person services and activities for their congregations at this time. Many churches are using technology for their services either over their websites or Facebook pages to keep contact with their parishioners. Others, depending on the size of the church, are having services as usual but limiting activities.
