The Percussion Ensemble at Christian County High School is celebrating performing for the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
According to a news release from CCPS Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, the performance took place virtually for the KMEA’s annual conference and followed a competitive audition process that took place last year. After being selected, the ensemble began working on a program for the conference, which was shown at the conference Wednesday.

Three Christian County public schools were placed on lockdown Monday afternoon after an alleged threat against a student and an arrest has been made.
A female student at Gateway Academy received a threat a through social media messaging service at about 2:50 p.m. from a male juvenile who said he had a gun and that he was coming to campus to shoot her, according to Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Rico Rodriguez.
He says officers were able to confirm the threat was made and Gateway, Christian County Middle School and Christian County High School were all placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

Hopkinsville Police say they received a report of a juvenile that sent a message to a student at school claiming someone was coming with a gun for them. Christian County Public Schools Communications Director John Rittenhouse said Gateway Academy administration was made aware of the threat made on social media by a non-district individual to the student.
Christian County Middle School, Christian County High School, and both campuses of Gateway Academy were locked down temporarily due to the threat.
