Man Indicted On Assault Charge After December Stabbing

John Chambers The Christian County Grand Jury indicted a Hopkinsville man on an assault charge after an incident on December 26 that led to a man being stabbed several times on South Main Street. The grand jury indicted 53-year-old John Thomas Chambers on a charge of first-degree assault. Hopkinsville Police said Chambers stabbed a man several times in the arm at the Manhattan Motel. The man was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Upon being taken into custody at his apartment, police found blood on his hands and pants. Yvette Simpson Also, 47-year-old Yvette R. Simpson, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on first-degree strangulation and second-degree robbery charges. Hopkinsville Police arrested Simpson on those charges in the early morning hours of January 11, after she reportedly put her knee on of her boyfriend’s neck then took his wallet, money, and his vehicle before leaving during a fight about money.

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 20, 2021 11:07 AM Proceedings were continued in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning in the case against Terrence Stepp, the man accused in the 2018 murder of Tamara Dragoo. Stepp appeared virtually from the Christian County Jail along with defense attorney Michael Thompson, who informed the court that he has received a significant amount of evidence in this case and needs more time to go through it all.  Circuit Judge John Atkins granted his request and set the next pretrial hearing for March 24, which he says should be ample time to look over the evidence. Stepp had previously been lodged in the Hopkins County Jail, as that county is where he was apprehended, but he has been transferred back to Christian County.

Grand jury to hear cases agaisnt suspects charged in man s disappearance | WHOP 1230 AM

Dawaun Davis/file photo The cases against two Oak Grove men charged in connection with the disappearance of a man from Clarksville will be heard by a Christian County Grand Jury following a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning in Christian District Court. Kentucky State Police Detective Brandon McPherson testified that 20-year old Dawuan Davis and 22-year old Marquell Devont’e Sims of Oak Grove were captured on video surveillance December 17 at the Shell Station on KY 115 in Oak Grove inside a vehicle owned and driven by Justin Tyler Sawyer. Sims reportedly told state police that they met Sawyer at the Newton Apartments in Oak Grove to purchase marijuana. He said Davis shot Sawyer in one of his legs there and in the other leg at the Shell station.

Grand Jury returns indictments for assault, criminal abuse

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 15, 2021 2:14 PM A Christian County Grand Jury returned a large amount of indictments Friday, including for assault and criminal child abuse. Indicted for first-degree assault is 42-year old Jamie Granados of Hopkinsville, who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend twice, once in the neck and once in his left thigh.  The victim had to be flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for his injuries.  This occurred in December in the 100 block of South Kentucky Avenue. The grand jury indicted 61-year old Raymond Wimbush with second-degree assault, alleging he stabbed an individual in an assault that occurred in November.  He reportedly told police that the victim had advanced on him with a knife.
