CCSO charges man with second-degree burglary

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 29, 2021 11:44 AM The Christian County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Thursday after he allegedly broke into Living Hope Baptist Church. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to reports of a burglary in progress at the church on the Eagle Way Bypass around 1:40 p.m. Thursday.  Upon arrival, they discovered 33-year old Shawn Gilkey exiting out of a door way.  Investigation determined he had made entry to the building through a basement door. When deputies asked for his name, Gilkey allegedly gave them his brother’s name and birthdate instead of his own.

Crofton man facing multiple charges following pursuit

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 14, 2021 4:37 PM The Christian County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Crofton man following a pursuit that ended on Dawson Springs Road Thursday afternoon. According to a news release, Deputy John Quarles attempted to stop a vehicle for an obstructed windshield around North Main Street and the Bypass in Hopkinsville at around 1:00 pm.  The driver, later identified as 40-year old James Ferrell of Crofton, allegedly accelerated and fled the scene.  During the pursuit, Ferrell could be seen throwing items from the vehicle, which were later collected by Deputies and identified as methamphetamine and marijuana.

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 7, 2021 10:27 AM Investigation by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department Thursday morning led to the arrest of a Crofton man for theft and other charges. Deputies were called to a trespassing complaint in a wooded area off Concord Lane about 7:20 a.m. and made contact with 52-year old Robert Addison of Crofton. Christian County Sheriff’s Major Jason Newby says Addison was trespassing and attempting to steal antique tractor equipment. Paramedics rescue driver from crashed burning vehicle

Two Taney County Ambulance District Paramedics are being commended for pulling an unconscious driver out of a burning vehicle after it had crashed into a rock bluff. In a press release, TCAD Public Information Officer Jonathan Tudor said on Friday, Dec. 18, TCAD Paramedics Shea Lathrum and Brandon Busch were returning to Taney County from an out-of-county transport when they observed a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 65 in Christian County near Saddlebrooke.  The paramedics were traveling southbound when they witnessed a vehicle impact a rock bluff, at highway speed, in the northbound lane. Immediately after witnessing the accident, the paramedics requested assistance from the jurisdictions having authority, according to the press release.
