Atlanta plays Houston, looks for 4th straight victory

BOTTOM LINE: Atlanta comes into a matchup with Houston as winners of three consecutive games.
The Hawks have gone 24-11 in home games. Atlanta ranks eighth in the Eastern Conference in team defense, giving up just 111.6 points while holding opponents to 46.5% shooting.
The Rockets have gone 8-27 away from home. Houston has a 10-27 record against opponents over .500.
The teams square off for the second time this season. The Hawks won 119-107 in the last meeting on March 16. Danilo Gallinari led Atlanta with 29 points, and Victor Oladipo led Houston with 34 points.
HOUSTON (AP) â Kelly Olynyk scored 20 points and fell a rebound shy of a triple-double as the Houston Rockets snapped a seven-game skid with a 122-115 victory over a Los Angeles Clippers team that rested several starters Friday night.
Olynyk had 11 assists and nine rebounds to help the Rockets win for the first time since April 29.
âEvery one of them coming together to have a victory is really good stuff, coach Stephen Silas said.
The Clippers were without Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Patrick Beverley as all three sat out on the second night of back-to-back games as the team prepares for the playoffs.

John Wall returned to the basketball court for the first time in a long time this season. He looked about as you d expect for a guy who hadn t scored a point since 2018. But the numbers are encouraging; Wall averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 1.1 steals in 40 games this year. Wall may never be the superstar he once was, but there are signs of a productive player.
Wall, however, was able to put up those numbers in part because he was playing for one of the worst teams in the NBA in Houston. The Rockets promised to be competitive after the James Harden trade and for a time, they were. Then Christian Wood got hurt in the midst of a breakout season and they completely bottomed out.At that point, it was very much in Houston s best interest to be as bad as possible because they keep their first-round pick this year if it lands in the top-4 of the lottery. The loss dropped the Clippers (47-24) into a tie for fourth place in the Western Conference with the Denver Nuggets. Both teams have one game left.
The Nuggets own the tiebreaker against Los Angeles, which concludes its regular season on Sunday evening at the Oklahoma City Thunder (21-50), the same time Denver plays at the Portland Trail Blazers (41-30).
Seven players scored in double figures for Houston (17-54), which had lost 12 of 13 and 44 of 49.
