On May 7, Janice Chesser, community health specialist with AZ Health Zone and the Gila County Health Department, visited each school cafeteria to present thank you posters signed by faculty and a few hero gifts from AZ Health Zone to lunch workers.
Workers at Payson schools honored as Lunch Superheroes were: Rosa Vazquez, Teresa Lynch and Cesilia Vazquez of Payson Elementary School; Nancy Yanez, Deborah Hill, Karla Bulfin and Heather Benefield of Julia Randall Elementary; Marla Downard, Yudith Bojorquez and Judy Jordan of Rim Country Middle School; and Christi Oft, Vicki Barwick and Christine Doyle of Payson High School.

Time Out Inc. Golf Tourney
A charity golf tournament for Time Out Inc. is at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 15 at the Payson Golf Club.
The Knauss Foundation is the eventâs major sponsor. The cost is $90 per person with member discounts. There are first and second place prizes, a 50-50 drawing, other prizes and lunch is included in the price.

Upon a pending FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine for those 12 years and older, Gila County officials are hoping to head into schools to get children vaccinated.
GILA COUNTY, Ariz. - Pfizer expects the FDA to make a ruling soon on approving the
COVID-19 vaccine for those 12 and older and the decision will have broad implications as cities and counties attempt to hit herd immunity in Arizona.
Gila County health officials have been waiting almost a year now to use a secret weapon in the battle against COVID-19 and they say next week they may finally use it.
