HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. â The Winter Motoring Meet will provide access to the Gilmore Car Museumâs indoor collection of classic vehicles alongside some scenic rides and other exhibits.
Those interested can take a ride on the Gilmore campus in antique cars/trucks provided by the museum, visit the exhibit of vintage snowmobiles, skate at the carving exhibition. Or enjoy outdoor games. Food and beverage accompanied by an outdoor fire will also be available with access to homemade soup, hot chocolate, winter beer, and wine.
For the Gilmore Car Museum the holidays aren t over, but just getting started, as they ve announced they ll be hosting Free Sleigh Rides Thursdays In January. The sleigh rides don t actually take place inside a sleigh, but in an authentic Ford Model AA truck from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. They re doing what they can to keep the holiday spirit alive during the pandemic and this is another great activity to take part in.
The page boast that they re offering: FREE “glorified sleigh rides” through the snow-covered Gilmore campus, riding on bench seats in the bed of a classic Ford Model AA pickup truck! Enjoy a fun, memorable outdoor winter experience for museum guests and their families. Be sure to bring your warm coats, hats, gloves, and perhaps even blankets. Rides will be provided one guest/family/group at a time, masks will be required, and the truck’s bench seating will be sanitized between each ride.

HICKORY CORNERS, MI - You can actually get behind the wheel of a car few people alive today have ever had the opportunity to drive. The nation’s largest auto museum is offering a limited number of Model T driver’s training classes for 2021. Sign ups for enrollment are now available.
The Gilmore Car Museum is located in Hickory Corners about a half hour northeast of Kalamazoo. Usually cars like this are only on display for people to look at, but the museum has a fleet of seven authentic Model T Fords it uses for the driving classes. The cars were built between 1908 and 1927.
