Two arrests in Dalston murder investigation

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Patrick Anzy in Hackney have made two arrests.
[A] a 14-year-old male and [B] 25-year-old male were arrested on Thursday, 13 May on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Both remain in custody.
An investigation was launched after police were called to reports of shots fired in Gillett Square, Dalston at 00.56hrs on Saturday, 8 May.
Officers attended and found a seriously injured man, 31-year-old Patrick Anzy.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, Patrick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed but formal identification awaits.

Patrick Anzy: Teenage boy and man arrested in Dalston murder investigation Tom Ambrose
A teenage boy and a 25-year-old man have been arrested over the fatal shooting of another man in Dalston on Saturday.
They were both arrested by police on Thursday morning, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, and remain in custody.
A post-mortem took place on Tuesday and confirmed the cause of death was injuries from gunshots.
The Metropolitan Police’s Detective Inspector Andy McDonald said: “This investigation is making progress, evidenced by these arrests, but I am still very keen to speak to anyone who was in the Gillett Square area at the time of the shooting who may have witnessed the murder.
Met Police data confirms the area as a crime hotspot with 106 out of the 217 crimes reported in Dalston in March this year occurring in the wider locality. Sixty of which took place in the immediate vicinity of Gillett Square.

Hackney s community safety chief, Cllr Susan Fajana-Thomas says concerns like Mr Beckford s are being taken very seriously and that a range of measures have been introduced to tackle problems in the square.
These include increasing council and police patrols, more drug and weapon sweeps and carrying out drug and alcohol outreach work to support people with addictions.
