Benguet cops praised for helping farmers plant potatoes

Published July 22, 2021, 11:02 AM A group of policemen from Benguet is now being praised in social media for helping farmers plant potatoes while the cops were on combat uniform. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), expressed gratitude to the personnel of the Buguias Municipal Police Station in Benguet for the display of good feed that he said would help convince the people that policemen are not enemies. “They were supposed to be doing regular beat patrols but could not help but to extend their assistance to the farmers in need of their help,” said Eleazar. The policemen were were conducting mobile patrol operations when they saw farmers of Sitio Salingao in Barangay Buyacaoan rushing to plant potatoes and racing to finish the task before heavy rain fell.

Cops distribute 200 pairs of slippers to poor kids in Davao de Oro

Together with other stakeholders, particularly the Monkayo National High School alumni batch ’95, the police officers also distributed burgers which was a rare treat for the kids who come from poor families in the barangay. PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar lauded the good deed of the personnel from the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay-Maragusan Cluster Seven, saying it is proof that there are far more number of good policemen. “This is small deed that I really appreciate because it shows our personnel’s concern on the poor children,” said Eleazar.

PNP ready to assist in contact-tracing as Delta variant threatens PH

Published July 21, 2021, 10:08 AM The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday, July 21, that it is ready to help in the contact-tracing amid the confirmation of cases and deaths relating to the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said a number of police personnel have been trained before for contact-tracing and these could be tapped as the government is planning to intensify the efforts to locate all people who made close contact with those who were infected by the Delta variant. The Department of Health has said there are eight active cases of Delta variant in the country. Contact tracing is ongoing to determine who had direct contact with the patients who were infected with the variant that is believed to be more transmissible.
