Arrest made after shots fired at Lost River Jr/Sr High School - KOBI-TV NBC5 / KOTI-TV NBC2

MERRILL, Ore. A suspect is behind bars, after the Klamath County School District says three shots were fired in the Lost River Junior/Senior High School parking lot during a baseball game. The Klamath County School District said on Facebook a person recklessly drove into the parking lot around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, as a high school baseball game was going on. The post says the suspect then fired three shots into the air and fled the scene. It says the school principal then evacuated all players and spectators into the school, before police were called. No injuries were reported. The school district says the suspect was arrested shortly after in Bonanza.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Learn-to-ride bike programs kicked off at Henley and Shasta Elementary Schools in Klamath County. It’s part of the “All Kids Bike” campaign, a national movement and fundraiser that uses schools’ PE programs to teach young kids how to ride bikes The Klamath County School District said thanks to more than $10,000 in donations, the two schools received their fleets of Strider bikes for kindergarteners. Last week, the schools hosted “reveal” assemblies for students and invited donors to come watch students try them for the first time. Bonanza Elementary is currently raising money to buy their own fleet of Strider bicycles. The Klamath County School District said the following about supporting that school’s efforts:

Klamath County School District hosting Play 2 Learn drive-through events

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. The Klamath County School District is getting its soon-to-be kindergarteners ready for school by hosting drive-through events. The events called ‘Play 2 Learn’ begin tomorrow at Chiloquin Elementary and conclude at Shasta Elementary on April 22nd. Klamath County School District says it invites families with children ages 3-5 to drive through and pick up bags filled with educational toys and books. The school district says the purpose of the events is to prepare the future students for class. The educational toys and books will support ‘Klamath Basics’ which include counting, stress management, talking, singing, and more.
