Portland sends two lovestruck contestants to The Bachelor
Popular contestant on this season s reality TV series served on Happy Valley Youth Council
Pieper James, a 2015 graduate of Clackamas High School, has quickly proven herself as a popular contestant on this season s nationally syndicated reality TV series The Bachelor.
The other local contestant is Beaverton resident Abigail Heringer.
Now working on getting her master s degree in marketing from DePaul University, James immediately used the fact that she shares the same last name with this season s bachelor to her advantage, saying, My dad always wanted my sisters and I to keep our last name, which is James … so, I m very happy to be meeting you.

Frogner, 65, of Milwaukie, was killed in 2019 when a Clackamas County teen sped through a stop sign and slammed into the truck Frogner was driving.

A Clackamas County teen on Friday was ordered into the custody of the Oregon Youth Authority for causing a wreck that killed a well-known fishing guide who had recently retired and was savoring time with his family and looking forward to teaching his young grandson about the outdoors.
Reymon Reyes, 18, of Wilsonville tearfully apologized as more than a dozen family members and friends of the man he killed Gregory Frogner spoke of their loss.
Clackamas High School students meet up in virtual lunchroom
Sports teams meet online regularly, and some are able to organize workouts together.
Clackamas is among high schools across the nation trying to provide a space for kids to have the interactions they need as adolescents in a virtual world.
High school leaders have opened a virtual lunchroom each week, when students come and select a table and hang out and visit with each other. CHS also has a monthly group of student athletic leaders who meet online.
Even in an online format, student athletes generally have a formal topic or presenter as part of their efforts to bring kids together outside of class schedules. CHS sports teams meet virtually to maintain some sense of team, and some teams are able to organize tightly regulated workouts together. Those are all outdoors and follow all OSAA rules, according to Assistant Principal Assistant Principal Joel Dunn.
