In light of the arrest of Clackamas Community College board member Dave Hunt for commercial sexual solicitation, CCC President Tim
Cook emailed students on May 7 to inform them that board members can t be terminated by the college.
Hunt could still be removed through the state recall process that would require signatures of 3% of CCC district voters before setting the date for a special election.
As first reported by Pamplin Media Group, the resident of the unincorporated Gladstone area was picked up in April during an undercover sting conducted by the Portland Police Bureau. Low demand shuts Clackamas clinic, 40% of county vaccinated
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is closing a Wilsonville clinic soon due to decreased demand.
Wilsonville City Councilor Joann Linville expressed concern about the percentage of residents who had received a COVID-19 vaccine during a meeting Monday, May 4. Meanwhile, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is winding down its vaccination clinic at Wilsonville s Clackamas Community College, citing decreased demand and an increase in alternative vaccination options.
According to data compiled by The Oregonian as of April 14, 38.8% of the Wilsonville population in the 97070 ZIP code had been at least partially vaccinated. That number has likely risen since, as Linville noted. Current data in Oregon shows that 43% of residents have been fully vaccinated and 13% are in the process of getting vaccinated. In Clackamas County, vaccination rates were 42%. The April 14 data showed that some poorer areas in the region have vaccination

Clackamas Community College board member and former Oregon State Speaker of the House of Representatives Dave Hunt has been cited by the Portland Police Bureau in an undercover sex traffic sting operation that took place in April, according to a PPB press release. “The subjects who contacted undercover police officers to arrange payment for sexual acts were criminally cited on the charge of Commercial Sexual Solicitation,” the announcement from PPB stated. Hunt’s legal representative, Michael De Munis, said that Hunt is innocent. While a legislator, Hunt was one of many sponsors of the bill which criminalized sex trafficking in 2007. In 2011, he similarly voted for H.B. 2714. That bill created the crime of “commercial sexual solicitation,” which is what Hunt was arrested for, according to a

Milwaukie educator David Kays announces run against the board member who was arrested on prostitution charges.
A Milwaukie educator has announced a write-in campaign for the Clackamas Community College board of directors against unopposed incumbent Dave Hunt, who recently was arrested on prostitution charges.
The election is May 18.
David Kays, a 33-year educator, is a music instructor who has taught at Lincoln High School in Portland since 2015. Before that, he taught in the Gladstone School District for 15 years. I was filling out my own ballot Friday night and realized that I couldn t vote for the incumbent, given his current legal issues, Kays said. My family had a quick discussion and agreed to write me in. By the next morning, we agreed other people might like an alternative, too, and I would be happy to serve the CCC community for a four-year term. Now I m asking for others to write me in.
