Meet Ruha Shadab, person behind India’s only incubator for Muslim women

New Delhi: Dr Ruha Shadab, 30, who had founded LedBy Foundation, India’s only leadership incubator to empower Muslim women, is running an intensive co-curricular Summer Fellowship Program for college-going students.
The program not only provides them access to industry experts and mentors but also gives them training.
It was 2019 when Ruha Shadab had launched the LedBy Foundation at Harvard University.

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, including Nigeria, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The global health agency estimates that over eight million people die of cancer annually and it is acclaimed the second leading cause of death globally.
The disease is responsible for 72,000 deaths in Nigeria every year, with an annual estimated 102,000 new cases, according to the Nigeria National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan (2018-2022).
The top five cancer burdens in Nigeria are prostate, liver, non-hodgkin’s lymphoma, colorectal and pancreatic for male and breast, cervical, liver, colorectal and non-hodgkin’s lymphoma for the female.
Of these, breast and cervical cancers are responsible for approximately 50.3 per cent of all cancers in Nigeria.

Global partners that are committed to ending paediatric AIDS have come together to call on countries to rapidly scale up access to optimal, child-friendly HIV treatment for infants and children. The partners include the United Nations Children’s Fund, the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNAIDS, the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Unitaid, the Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).
