RENOVO State police have identified and charged the “active shooter” who fired shots throughout the borough of Renovo Tuesday morning, causing police to issue a shelter in place advisory for residents.
Gene Eaton, 44, of Renovo, has been charged with Discharge of a Firearm into Occupied Structure and Firearms Not to be Carried without a License, both felony 3 charges, and misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
Eaton was arraigned before Dist. Judge Frank Mills who set bail at $350,000. Unable to post bail, Eaton was transported to the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
Tuesday’s incident began at about 7:50 a.m. when multiple state and local police responded to reports of a white male firing a handgun in the street of Renovo.

LOGANTON A Loganton man is accused of sexually assaulting a minor more than a dozen times.
Gideon L. Miller, 31, of 832 Mill St., is charged with 14 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 14 counts of indecent assault of persons less than 13 years of age and 14 counts of corruption of minors.
The felony charges were filed by state police at Lamar on Feb. 27.
Miller was arraigned by District Judge Frank Mills, who set bail at $50,000.
Unable to post bail at that time, Miller was committed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility. He has since posted bail and been released from jail.

McELHATTAN There’s a light at the end of the COVID tunnel at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
And everybody there couldn’t be happier.
“There are now four inmates in quarantine… all are asymptomatic. On Friday, three will be out of quarantine. On Tuesday, the fourth will be out of quarantine… and we’ll be virus free,” Warden Angela Hoover said Thursday as she talked to The Express about the situation at the local prison.
Since the start of the pandemic last year, Hoover said 606 inmates have been tested with 100 positive results. Staff-wise, she said 66 employees were tested and there were 23 positive cases.

LOCK HAVEN Non-salary, full-time county employees received a 2.5 percent increase across the board to start off 2021.
The increase for an employee making over $100,000 is 0.5 percent. Chief Clerk Jann Meyers said the county employs only one person in the IT Department who qualifies for the lower rate.
The Clinton County Salary Board made up of commissioners Miles Kessinger, Jeff Snyder and Angela Harding and Treasurer Michelle Kunes –unanimously approved the action at Monday’s meeting.
Along with the increase, the board approved a resolution for President Judge Craig P. Miller’s office to compensate Clinton County Adult and Juvenile Probation Officers, as follows:
