It happened about 4 p.m. Sunday in the area of Macedonia Road and Martinsville Road, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

A 25-year veteran wildlife officer was shot in the line of duty Sunday afternoon, officials said. Kevin Behr was investigating a deer poaching complaint in Clinton County near Macedonia and Martinsville roads when the shooting occurred, according to the Clinton County Sheriff s Office. Behr was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. On Monday morning, he was listed in stable condition. Two Greene County men and a Clinton County man were arrested following the shooting. Brian R. Liming, 49, of Xenia is charged with hunting without permission, not having a deer permit – both misdemeanors – and possessing weapons under disability, a felony. Those convicted of felonies and some violent misdemeanors are disqualified from possessing firearms under Ohio law.
