Pedestrian killed on Gratiot in Clinton Township By: Alex Szwarc | C&G Newspapers | Published June 9, 2021 Shutterstock photo Advertisement CLINTON TOWNSHIP The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck.    The crash occurred around 9:54 p.m. June 8 on northbound Gratiot Avenue near Grandy Street. Police have identified the victim as a 58-year-old male from Clinton Township. As of press time, the name of the victim is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.   The driver was identified as a 39-year-old from Chesterfield Township. “Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking eastbound in the roadway in the left lane,” a press release states. “The silver Ford 2012 F-150 was driving northbound on Gratiot and struck the pedestrian when he walked into its path.”

The Macomb County Enforcement Team received a tip about the lab Tuesday morning from the 33000 block of Cheryl Street in Clinton Township, according to authorities. Investigators obtained a search warrant and recovered the equipment shown in the photo above. They also found 10 marijuana plants, about 30 pounds of suspected marijuana and a handgun all of which was seized, police said.

Officials said the crash happened at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday (June 8) in the northbound lanes of Gratiot Avenue near Grandy Street. A 58-year-old Clinton Township man was walking east in the left lane of the road when he was struck by a silver Ford F-150 heading north on Gratiot Avenue, Police said the man “walked into (the truck’s) path” and that alcohol or drugs “may have been a factor” for the pedestrian.
