With 908,096 shots given, Ohio vaccine doses now exceed coronavirus cases: Wednesday update Laura Hancock, cleveland.com
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Health said 3,991 new coronavirus cases brought the state’s total cases in the pandemic to 906,727 on Wednesday.
Wednesday also marked the day when the number of coronavirus vaccine doses that have been administered exceeded case numbers: 25,586 doses were reported as having been administered between 6 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, bringing the total doses to 908,096.
Doses don’t mean total vaccinations completed because people need two doses to be considered fully vaccinated. On Tuesday evening, the Ohio Department of Health began reporting the number of second doses. It was 217,058 on Wednesday.
