EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio As the eyes of the NFL world are on Cleveland this weekend for the 2021 NFL Draft, the Browns took a few moments to give back on Friday with a special field groundbreaking ceremony at Shaw Stadium in East Cleveland.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Cleveland Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and several local political and educational leaders.
State fee for contractor to benefit Cleveland students

A state fine for a contractor will end up benefiting homeless students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
According to a news release, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has secured more than $250,000 in fines from Miller Builders of Ohio, which the state found used foreign steel on eight projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation. State law requires the use of domestic steel on state-funded projects.
The company was fined 1.5 times the cost of the steel used. According to state statute, those fines are to be distributed in the school districts where the projects were located.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - With just days away from the NFL Draft, local talent is getting ready to take the stage during the opening ceremony in Cleveland Thursday night.
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District All-City Choir will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing, the Black national anthem on the NFL stage.
“We’re not your average teenage choir, that we sound like professionals. We were all hand-selected, so you know we’re going to make sure that we bring it to the NFL Draft,” said Joseph Moss, a junior at Cleveland School of Arts.
Akron officially names Christine Fowler-Mack as its next superintendent

Christine Fowler-Mack has officially been named the next superintendent of Akron Public Schools. The district s board of education unanimously voted to approve her contract in a meeting on Tuesday, April 27.
