CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Metropolitan School District Superintendent Eric Gordon provided an update to students and families regarding when children could return back to in-person learning.
In a video message released on Friday morning, Gordon recommended that Cleveland schools remain in virtual instruction through Feb. 26 at the earliest.
“I am therefore recommending that CMSD continue in a remote learning environment for most students for the first half of the third quarter, from Monday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Feb. 26,” the school district superintendent said.

During the pandemic, classes are online, but once hybrid learning is available, leaders at the school hope to have some students at the LGBT Community Center just west of the city s downtown district. CMSD says it is the first of its kind in the country. It blows my mind. I didn t honestly think it was going to be this easy, said DaJon Battle, a program administrator with the district. Battle, who identifies as Queer, said representation in schools is important.

CLEVELAND â An occupational therapist with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) who resigned from her job last week has been charged in federal court for her alleged involvement in the U.S. Capitol riots after she was identified in a photograph showing her at the Senate President s desk.
Christine Priola, 49, was arrested Thursday and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricting building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and unlawful activities in Capitol grounds, parades, assemblages and display of flags.
