Branch County sheriff receives COVID-19 vaccine

BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. â Branch County s Sheriff Pollack received his COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, along with several other members of the department.
The Branch County Sheriff s Office shared the news in a Facebook post.
The vaccinations come as the state moves onto Phase 1B of its process.
Phase 1B includes many essential workers who interact with the public, including police.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The retirement of a veteran law enforcement officer has led to some changes at the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Sgt. Dan Nichols will be retiring from the Sheriff’s Department at the end of the month. Nichols was hired in 1988.
He was honored with a special award during a Branch County Board of Commissioners meeting in March of 2019 for 30 years of service to the Sheriff’s Department.
With Nichols retiring, Sgt. David Fillmore has been promoted from road patrol duties to Detective Sergeant while Deputy Frank Barker has been promoted to Sergeant.

Ronald Harry Frambes, 88, of Coldwater, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
Ron was born April 30, 1932 in Millville, New Jersey to Howard and Berniece (Conover) Frambes. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in New Jersey. He enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years and was inducted at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey, and served in Germany. In 1952 he moved to Angola, Indiana and attended what was then Tri-State College, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. On July 19, 1953, he married the former Irene M. Michael in Coldwater. She survives.
