The Union Budget 2021-22, tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on Monday, does not have much in store for the people of Jharkhand, barring the dedicated Eastern Freight Corridor that would pass from Gomoh and Eklavya Schools likely to come up in places that have a high tribal population, economists said on Monday.
While the budget promises road infrastructure development in four poll-bound states – West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam economists who have been studying the trends in Jharkhand fear that it would encourage migration from states like Jharkhand and Bihar, which have a high number of labourers.

In a big boost to the improvement of Railway infrastructure in the country, Finance Minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman provided a record 1.1 lakh crores for Railways of which 1.7 lakh crores is dedicated for capital expenditure.
And in an effort to decrease logistics cost and aid the domestic manufacturing industry, FM announced the East Coast Freight Corridor from Kharagpur to Vijayawada, East - West Freight Corridor from Bhusawal to Kharagpur to Dankuni and North - South Freight Corridor from Itarsi to Vijayawada.
This will aid âNational Rail Plan - 2030â prepared by the Ministry of Railways for creation of a future ready railway infrastructure for India.

Within weeks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating a total of 657 km stretch on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today said that additional 400 km stretch will be ready on the corridors by March this year.
Addressing the first national conference of states on logistics today, Goyal also said that construction of the entire Eastern and the Western DFCs will be complete by 2022. The minister also said that a national logistics policy is under consultation adding that the country has a $200 billion logistics ecosystem .

Indian Railways To Complete Most Sections Of Dedicated Freight Corridors In 2021

With two back to back inaugurations of the 351 km Khurja-Bhaupur section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor and 306 km Rewari-Madar section of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor within a gap of 10 days, the railways is now eyeing to complete most of the sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) this year, officials said on Sunday.
A railway ministry official said that work on the 335-km long Madar-Palanpur section of the WDFC is in full swing and it will be ready by March 2021.
