Preliminary investigation of the death of the 20-year-old Auburn student on January 9th indicates that he died from multiple blunt force internal injuries from an intentional act and has been ruled a suicide.

AUBURN – According to multiple reports, the Saturday death of a 20-year-old Auburn University student has been ruled a suicide.
Auburn police responded to an apartment complex on North Gay Street at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday to find the unnamed male unresponsive on the sidewalk. Authorities believe he fell from a sixth-floor balcony of the Standard apartment complex.
According to al.com, he was taken to East Alabama Medical Center with critical injuries, and was pronounced dead in the emergency room on Saturday evening. Coroner Bill Harris says the student died of multiple blunt force internal injuries from the fall.
More that 1.1 million people called the Alabama Public Health hotline in its first day of operation, trying to schedule appointments to receive the COVID-19 vaccine starting Jan. 18.
Adding staff to answer those scheduling calls is a priority for ADPH, Assistant State Health Officer Dr. Karen Landers said one that the agency worked on over the weekend and continues to moving forward.
Landers said she didn t know how many people currently staff the line. Everyone is working on ways to add more staff to get those appointments scheduled, she said.
Teresa Johnson was one of those calling, but she couldn t get through to schedule a vaccination for her 91-year-old mom.
