IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- A grizzly bear was shot and killed Friday, while officials from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks were investigating the scene of a Thursday attack near West Yellowstone.
A post on Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks region three Facebook page says a group of seven investigators, including FWP game wardens and bear specialists, as well as Forest Service personnel, revisited the site Friday to assess ongoing public safety risks and continue the investigation. They yelled and made continuous noise as they walked toward the site to haze away any bears in the area. Before they reached the site, a bear began charging the group. IDAHO FALLS An Idaho Falls man is behind bars after he allegedly drove onto a curb to intentionally hit a male pedestrian.
The events occurred around 1 p.m. Wednesday when the Idaho Falls Police Department got a call that a man had just been hit by an SUV near WinCo Foods on Woodruff Avenue. Investigators later learned the driver of the SUV was 59-year-old Mark Mansfield Oster, according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by EastIdahoNews.com.
A witness told officers he was driving on Woodruff when he spotted a silver SUV driving on Caribou Street jump the curb and hit a man walking alongside the road. The driver then drove away, leaving the victim limping in the nearby O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store parking lot.

The victim, a West Yellowstone resident, was able to call 911 following the mauling at about 3.45pm.
He was located after an off-trail search of about 50 minutes and taken by toboggan and snowmobile to an ambulance
Victim was transported by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls
Investigators have been unable to interview the victim because of injuries that included significant scalp and facial wounds

WEST YELLOWSTONE A person is recovering at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after being attacked by a grizzly bear Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to an area near Bakers Hole Campground around 3:45 p.m., according to a Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office news release. They searched for 50 minutes before finding the injured person, who had significant scalp and facial injuries.
Gallatin County Sheriff Search & Rescue were called to respond on snowmobile with a rescue toboggan. The victim was loaded onto the toboggan and taken to a nearby ambulance. Hebgen Basin Fire Department EMS crews then drove the patient to EIRMC.
