Apartment manager accused of shooting man in Idaho Falls, self
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (East Idaho News) An apartment manager in Idaho Falls is accused of shooting a man on New Year’s Eve and shooting himself in the arm.
The information comes from an affidavit of probable cause obtained by EastIdahoNews.com about the shooting leading to the arrest of Walter Ismael Alarcon Aguirre, 42. The incident led law enforcement to swarm the apartment complex on the corner of St. Clair Avenue and 12th Street for several hours.
Around 9 p.m, the Idaho Falls Police Department rushed to the apartments after getting reports of gunshots and a disturbance.
A 13-hour police standoff came to an end Thursday afternoon when the suspect came out of his apartment, walked down the stairs and put on a helmet.
Seconds later the barefoot man was tackled by police and taken into custody. Riley Sills, 40, has been charged with second degree attempted murder.
Sills is the suspect in a Wednesday night stabbing that happened in the parking lot near his Town Creek apartment off West Deloney Avenue.
The victim, who was stabbed in the stomach just before midnight Wednesday, called 911 before collapsing in front of a nearby motel. He was rushed to St. Johnâs Health and then transferred to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The 53-year-old is expected to survive, though his exact condition was unknown at press time.

Jackson Stabbing suspect in custody
JACKSON, Wyo. (KIFI/KIDK)-UPDATE 1-4 The suspect in the stabbing incident has been identified as Riley Sills. The victim s name and condition have not been released at this time.
UPDATE: 1:40 p.m. A person who barricaded himself in a Jackson apartment is now in police custody. The name of the 40-year-old suspect has not been released.

UPDATE: 11:35 a.m. Jackson Police continue to monitor a standoff at the Town Creek Apartment complex.
Gallatin Countyâs search and rescue team has responded to several calls since Christmas Eve, most of which were for snowmobile wrecks that involved tourists and first-time riders.
Gallatin County Sheriffâs Capt. Scott Secor, who is the search and rescue commander, said most of the calls involved peopleâs âfirst time experiencesâ doing whatever they were doing.
âThey had a few bobbles along the way,â Secor said.
On Dec. 24, just before 1 p.m., a family reported a 57-year-old woman crashed a snowmobile about 5 miles south of West Yellowstone on Whiskey Trail. Rescuers found the woman and used a rescue sled to take her 2 miles to a medical helicopter. She was then flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
