Rigby Middle School students return to class after last week s school shooting

Updated at Share This RIGBY Students returned to Rigby Middle School Tuesday amidst the memories of last week’s school shooting and subsequent lockdown. To ensure that the return was a positive one, community members and students from across eastern Idaho visited the school to welcome back the middle schoolers. The community members displayed their love, strength and solidarity with the students through chalk art, posters or other artistic displays. “It was a very tragic event that happened and we just felt we just needed to show a little love to Rigby,” Bonneville High School student Brock Wilde said. Cow elk are much more aggressive towards people during the calving season and may charge or kick. Several years ago, two women were hospitalized after being attacked by elk near the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. In the first incident, the elk reared up and kicked the woman multiple times with its front legs, hitting her head, torso and back. She had been walking in the area while the animal was protecting a calf bedded down roughly 20 feet away. The woman was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Brandon Bair, 36, says he was among the first on the scene Thursday when a train struck a semi truck, causing it to burst into flames with the driver trapped inside, he told East Idaho News. Bair, a defensive end, played for the Oakland Raiders in 2012 and spent two years with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring in 2015.
