Date Time CCTV released as investigation continues into stabbing – Coogee Detectives are appealing for public assistance as inquiries continue into the stabbing of a man in Sydney’s east earlier this month. About 2pm on Friday 8 January 2021, emergency services were called to a unit on Mount Street, Coogee, after reports a man had been stabbed. Police have been told a man entered the unit and demanded money from the male occupant. The man then stabbed the occupant several times, before he fled the scene. No money was stolen. The 33-year-old occupant was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition, where he underwent multiple emergency surgeries for wounds to his stomach, back and arms.

An alleged motorcycle thief is in critical condition requiring surgery after jumping off a 10-metre high cliff to evade police. He and another 17-year-old boy were rushed to hospital after plummeting from the rock face at the end of Toxteth Street in Sydney s Glebe. The other teen only suffered minor injuries after landing on a ledge. Officers attempted to stop the motorcycle duo about 1.40am on Thursday in the inner west suburb after confirming one of the bikes was reported stolen. Police believe the other motorcycle was also stolen.  A 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and is undergoing surgery after allegedly jumping off a cliff to evade police. Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and located the body of a man. The man was formally identified as 77-year-old South Coogee resident, Peter McCarthy.
