COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Set to Open in Greenwich

By Richard Kaufman COVID-19 vaccination clinics are set to begin in Greenwich this week, as the massive campaign to immunize people all over the country continues. Greenwich residents who are 75 and older are eligible in Phase 1B to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine which will be available – by appointment only – at four locations in Town. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Beginning Jan. 25, Greenwich Hospital will operate a daily clinic at the Brunswick School King Street campus in addition to its Northeast Medical Group location at 500 W. Putnam Ave. Last Friday evening, First Selectman Fred Camillo announced that Greenwich Hospital had temporarily suspended taking reservations to ensure there is an adequate vaccine supply for the appointments already made.

Greenwich Health Department Prepares for COVID-19 Vaccinations

By Richard Kaufman As the massive vaccine rollout continues around the country, Greenwich is preparing to inoculate residents as the state of Connecticut moves through the first phase of distribution. Currently, Connecticut is in Phase 1A of the vaccine distribution, which began last month. The initial rollout includes health care workers, medical first responders and nursing home and assisted living facility residents. Phase 1B is slated to begin on Jan. 18, and people can begin registration for appointments online or over the phone starting on Jan. 14. Right now, phase 1B is expected to include people over age 75, front line essential workers and individuals and staff in congregate settings, but Connecticut might expand the phase to people age 65 and over, and residents who are deemed high risk.
