Janice Lea Westmoreland Lipscomb

Wednesday, January 27, 2021 8:00 am Janice Lea Westmoreland Lipscomb, 77, of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Family memorial service held at Vernant Park Baptist Church on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Janice was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, attended East Texas Baptist University, and graduated from Wichita State University in Elementary Education. She taught in Wichita and Robertsdale, Alabama. Janice always had a heart for missions, the persecuted church, and was a devout prayer warrior. She played the organ and piano for church services, taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School to children and teenagers. Over the years, she sang in the choir, led WMU, GA’s, and children’s choir. A mother of six, she taught them all to love the Lord. Janice is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Rev. N.J. and Wanda Westmoreland, a brother, and a sister. She is survived by her husband Gerald Lipsco

ETBU Is Nation s Best in Bass Fishing; Wins School of the Year

From East Texas Baptist University When it comes to bass fishermen, we grow some good ones around these parts. Proving that this year is Marshall, Texas own East Texas Baptist University, who just laid claim to the coveted title of The Tackle Warehouse School of the Year. We learn from Major League Fishing that the title is presented each year to the college with the highest point total at the conclusion of the regular season. Points are awarded to the top two finishing teams from each school competing in a College Fishing tournament. The ETBU club secured the crown with top finishes in the Southern Conference and a pair of top-10 finishes in the annual Open on Kentucky Lake.

ETBU Bass Fishing wins School of the Year Title

MARSHALL, Texas - Earning the top title in collegiate fishing and making history at East Texas Baptist University, the Tiger Bass Fishing team was named the 2020 Tackle Warehouse School of the Year on Monday, December 14, by Fishing League Worldwide (FLW). This title annually goes to the school with the highest year-end point total at the completion of the regular Abu Garcia College Fishing season presented by YETI. Points are awarded to the top two finishing teams from each school that competes in an FLW College Fishing tournament. After finishing in eighth place last year with 2,257 points, ETBU ended the season as the top team in 2020 with 2,319 points.
