GREEN RIVER As the Monroe and East Teton Water Project continues toward completion some streets will need to be temporarily closed.
On Monday, May 10, East Teton Boulevard will be closed on to allow a water line to be installed across the street. The water line work will cross East Teton at Monroe starting Monday morning, causing contractor Lewis and Lewis to close East Teton, which is a major commuter access to both the South and North side of the City. Closure is expected around 8:30 am Monday, however reopening will be determined at a later date.
Motorists will be detoured onto Logan Street on the north side and Bridger Drive on the south side.

It was after moving to Green River that Mark Baker found himself traveling along Interstate 80 much more frequently.
Baker, the Republican legislator representing House District 60, said he sees what kind of threat driving on I-80 can be for people commuting between Sweetwater County’s two cities as a result of heavy traffic often using the route. Semi trucks, using the route as a direct means of shipping goods across the country, are a common sight on the interstate, as well as travelers and locals making their way to their destinations.
The heavy traffic load means an increased potent.
GREEN RIVER The Green River City Council unanimously approved alterations to take place at The Mast Lounge to allow the building to open as a bar.
Thomas Eddy, owner of The Mast, addressed the Council during the March 2 meeting to try to obtain a non-conforming use permit placed back onto the building which would allow him to open the establishment as a strip club.
However, the Council said they would not allow the building to be used as a non-conforming use, and that the structure lost its non-conforming use due to not being in use for 18 consecutive months. According to the city ordinance, if active and continuous operation of a nonconforming use is discontinued for a period of 18 consecutive months, the structure loses its non-conforming use and can only be used for a conforming use.
