Confusion as Imo govt house, two other places named after ESN commander Ikonso

Following the death of the commander of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, Ikonso allegedly killed by security agencies last week, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has named the Imo State Government House, Douglas Road Owerri, and Awomamma Junction respectively after the deceased.
The group in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful Wednesday, said the decision was one of the ways its members and Biafrans globally wished to immortalise the fallen leader and his men.
The statement partly reads;

The group stressed that the renaming takes immediate effect.

IGBO people in the United States of America under the aegis of the Igbo Union has condemned the spate of insecurity in the country and frowned at the Federal Government’s disposition in addressing the challenges.
The body which is an umbrella organization of Igbo communities and Cultural Association in America, berated the Federal Government for the way and manner it was handling challenges of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and killings in the country and in Igbo land in particular. They lamented that South-East Governors were not rising to the occasion of protecting the lives and property of the people.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has renamed the Imo State Government House, and two popular roads in Owerri, the state capital.
Douglas Road Owerri, and Awomamma Junction were renamed Ikonso Way and Ikonso Junction respectively, in honour of the late commander of its security outfit, Eastern Security Network, ESN, Ikonso Commander.
IPOB, in a statement on Wednesday, released by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the decision was one of the ways its members and Biafrans globally wished to immortalise the fallen leader and his men.
