The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, who is also a member of the Rotary International in collaboration with Kokrokoo Charities has supported two major hospitals in the region with incubators.
The donation of the equipment to the hospitals, which includes, the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua and the Kwahu Atibie Government Hospital was to help provide the needed healthcare to premature babies that may be delivered at these facilities in order to support their survival and reduce infant mortalities.
The donation of the four incubators to the two government hospitals was an initiative of the Eastern Regional Minister with support from Kokrokoo Charities.

The Management of the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua has clarified that it has not detained some 246 patients at a go for failure to pay their bills during admission.
“We wish to state emphatically that the 246 persons are not being kept in the hospital for failure to pay their bills, and we do not even have the space to contain such numbers in addition to the patients on admission,” it said.
A publication by the Daily Graphic last Tuesday stated that some 246 patients, who had been treated and had recovered, were being detained by the hospital for failure to settle their medical bills totalling GH¢281,092.

Some three Eastern Regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been involved in a car crash.
The crash was a near-fatal one and the executives have sustained injuries.
They were said to returning from a campaign tour in the Afram Plains area when the crash occurred.
The executives are Hackman Kabore, Regional Organizer, Richard Etornam Nyarko, Deputy Regional Organizer, and Michael Akorli, Deputy Regional Communication Officer.
DGN Online understands they were en route to meet the National Chairman, Ofosu Ampofo when the crash occurred.
They were said to have been rushed to the Atibie Government Hospital for first aid.
