A crash involving a lorry and a car closed two lanes of the M1 in Derbyshire earlier this morning.
The two inside lanes were shut southbound at junction 28 for Alfreton and Mansfield from around 6.50am.
According to traffic information service Inrix, motorists faced four miles of queuing traffic on approach to the junction.
The collision took place between the exit and entry slip roads at the junction.
Traffic officers from Highways England were at the scene, as were East Midlands Ambulance Service.
