Loop News Tropical storm Elsa has now moved away from Florida and is affecting the neighbouring state of Georgia. The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) discontinued its tropical storm advisories for Florida. At 5 pm EDT, the centre of Tropical Storm Elsa was located inland about 115 miles (185 km) west-southwest of Brunswick, Georgia. On the forecast track, Elsa will move over Georgia tonight, over South Carolina early on Thursday, over North Carolina later on Thursday and move near or over the mid-Atlantic coast on Friday. Elsa’s maximum sustained winds have decreased to about 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the centre.
