Chief executive of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust , East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and, as of later this year, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The new boss of the Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble hospitals has been unveiled – and he already knows all about the challenges of running major NHS facilities in Lancashire. Kevin McGee, who is currently chief executive of the organisations that operate Blackpool Victoria and the Royal Blackburn hospitals, is now preparing to take on the top job at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTH). His appointment follows the announcement back in January that Karen Partington, who has held the role for a decade, will retire at the end of the year after more than 40 years in the NHS.
He told MPs on Monday to “look at what is happening in Bolton hospital where the majority of people in hospital with coronavirus were eligible for the jab but have chosen not yet to have the jab and have ended up in hospital, some of them in intensive care”.
Khan said he did not know why three of the nine patients had not taken up a vaccine when they were eligible, and health officials would look into it. He said a small minority of people had concerns about the vaccine but the vast majority were “desperate” to get the jab, especially as cases have started rising again.
Most Covid patients in East Lancashire hospital had jab, says council leader msn.com - get the latest breaking news, showbiz & celebrity photos, sport news & rumours, viral videos and top stories from msn.com Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers.
âClose scrutinyâ of coronavirus hospital admission rates in Blackburn with Darwen
Rising Covid-19 case rates in Blackburn with Darwen are unlikely to lead to increased deaths and hospital admissions – but the situation will be monitored daily with “close scrutiny”, says the borough’s health chief. Seven people are currently in hospital in East Lancashire with a coronavirus diagnosis out of a population of 555,000, said Professor Dominic Harrison. He said that a number of those seven treated within East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust were eligible for a vaccination but had not taken it up, others had one dose, one person had more than one jab and one patient was of school age.
