New figures from NHS England, released on Wednesday afternoon show that in the last 24 hours, five people who tested positive for Covid in the previous 28 days have died at facilities managed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust. A further four Covid-related deaths were recorded at hospitals within both Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust and Blackpool Hospitals Trust, with facilities in the University of Morecambe Bay Hospitals Trust also registering another four deaths. Hospitals within Southport and Ormskirk Trust reported that a further two people had died within 28 days of having a positive Covid test result.
