A mosque in Forest Gate hosted a pop-up Covid vaccination clinic as part of ongoing efforts to encourage eligible people to get their jab.
Two full-day sessions were held at Minhaj-ul-Quran mosque on March 31 and April 1, following several similar events organised with faith groups in the borough.
It s part of work being done by the NHS and partners to provide facts about the vaccine and build trust among communities in order to address the challenges of vaccine uptake.

A mosque in Bromley is one of the first in the country to offer its facilities to the NHS vaccination programme. Al-Emaan Mosque in Keston has already hosted two clinics, on February 6 and 27, helping the NHS reach the local community. Dr Omar Taha, Bromley GP and Trustee of Al-Emaan Mosque has been the driving force behind the clinic. Dr Taha said, “Integral to the Mosque ethos is community support, so when the opportunity arose to assist the Covid-19 vaccination drive, we were keen to do what we could to help. “As Muslims, a core principle of the faith is to care for and support our community and people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Mental health provider Kooth have been commissioned in south east London A new mental health support service for adults has been launched in south east London, hoping to help people deal with the mental impact of the pandemic. NHS South East London CCG has commissioned Kooth, a leading provider of digital mental health support, who will lead a free, anonymous online counselling and emotional welling service called Qwell. Commissioned in response to the challenges of Covid-19 and the multiple lockdowns, which Kooth say has seen a surge in demand, the service is available to any adult aged 26 or over. Dr Nancy Kuchemann, GP and Clinical Lead for Mental Health at NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group said: “The pandemic and months of restrictions have had an impact on everybody’s mental wellbeing.
