The shooting happened at about 5:11 a.m. in the 12400 block of East Northwest Highway, near Shiloh Road and Interstate 635. But the outpouring of community support that followed has been “overwhelming,” says Pichakron, who operates the business with her husband, Jason Reed. Neighboring restaurants in Lake Highlands pitched in to clean up. A friend drew the bakery’s logo across the temporary plywood storefront, and people started signing it a testament that the couple ultimately moved to their home a couple of blocks away.
