Dr. Francien Chenoweth Richardson, a psychologist and counsellor, has cautioned Liberians to be more proactive in addressing Rape Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), stating that rape is a second highest crime in Liberia. “We know that cases go to the court and at the end of the day these cases are thrown out.”
Dr. Richardson, is a professor of Psychology from Immaculata University located in East Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia Area. She said rape or SGBV is everywhere; so it is necessary for policymakers and state actors to work robustly to eradicate the menace in the society.

Aqua Pennsylvania Reaches Agreement With East Whiteland Twp. to Purchase Municipal Wastewater Assets

Essential Utilities Inc. (NYSE:WTRG) announced today that its Pennsylvania wastewater subsidiary has signed an asset purchase agreement with East Whiteland Township, Chester County to acquire the municipality’s wastewater assets for approximately $55 million. The pending transaction is subject to Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approval.
East Whiteland Township’s wastewater system serves approximately 8,200 customer-equivalents including residential and commercial connections. The system is comprised of 57 miles of collection mains and 13 pump stations. The collection system accepts waste from the neighboring municipalities of Malvern Borough and Charlestown Township. The Cummings Africa Foundation (CAF) has commenced a four-day Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) trauma training for community leaders, healthcare professionals, policymakers and civil society organizations.
The training that began on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at a local resort (Musu Spot) in Congo Town, focuses on establishing key concepts and approaches to persons who may have very little or no knowledge working with SGBV trauma survivors and develop the capacity of those who are currently working in the SGBV prevention and response arena but require additional specialized training.
CAF action strategy in addressing SGBV trauma is through Assistance, Advocacy and Awareness (3As). CAF recognized that Liberia and the world continue to battle the scourge of COVID-19, but there is another crisis, rape and SGBV, that can no longer be taken lightly.
Chester County ballet instructor sentenced for sexual abuse of student

EAST WHITELAND TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) A Chester County ballet instructor will serve time behind bars for sexually abusing a student.
Alexander Boitsov, 68, was sentenced to 57-114 months in prison for the sexual abuse of a 15-year old student at The International Ballet Theater in East Whiteland Township, where Boitsov was a ballet instructor.
Officials said the victim came forward in 2017 after two years of abuse. Despite the position of power the defendant was in, this young victim had the fortitude to speak up about his horrific abuse. I commend him for his strength, said Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan.
