(WXYZ) â An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old student was stabbed at Eastpointe High School on Tuesday, police confirm.
Eastpointe Police say the victim had multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. They also reportedly recovered a knife at the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The suspect, also a 15-year-old student, is now being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.

EASTPOINTE One Eastpointe High School student was hospitalized and another is in police custody after a disagreement between the two students turned violent.
The incident occurred at approximately 10 a.m. June 1 inside the high school. According to the Eastpointe Police Department, a 15-year-old student suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Officers said he was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The department said that officers recovered the knife used in the stabbing at the scene and that the suspect, also 15 years old, surrendered to officers after a brief foot pursuit. He was taken to the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.

EASTPOINTE Eastpointe’s beloved Halfway Schoolhouse got a facelift on May 15, thanks to the East Detroit Historical Society and some local volunteers. They spent the day repainting the exterior and doing some basic maintenance on the building.
The schoolhouse was originally built in 1872 and now is situated next to Eastpointe High School. For generations, it has been used by the community for both educational purposes and social events.

DETROIT – A Detroit family continues its search for answers after an 18-year-old man was killed last week.
Shawn Ewing was shot to death last Monday, May 3, on Tacoma Street near East State Fair Avenue and Schoenherr Street on the city’s east side. Family members said Ewing was weeks away from graduating from Eastpointe High School.
His sisters made a plea for anyone with information to come forward.
“It hit different when you watch somebody grow from a baby to a young man. So I’m just asking anybody out there to help us find out who did this to our brother,” said Lateshia Wilkerson.
