At least, seventeen people were killed and scores others injured on Wednesday in a series of flash floods triggered by cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh and Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Also 14 persons are missing and dozens of residential houses, bridges, a mosque, standing crops and a mini power plant have been damaged, the officials said.

Srinagar: A local court in Jammu and Kashmir has severely criticised the investigating officer of a case registered under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act [UAPA] for being “lethargic and sluggish” and ordering a departmental enquiry against him, prompting legal experts to say this case is representative of the way in which the law is being misused.

It stated that 1600 immunity booster kits were provided for police personnel to the SHO Kishtwar and the rest of the 1400 kits as requisitioned by the office of SSP Kishtwar shall be handed over within a week.
In another instance, immunity booster medicines were also distributed among the staff and attendants of Covid positive patients who are unavoidably in direct contact with their patients at the Covid Care centres established at District Hospital Kishtwar and SDH Atholi Paddar.
While providing the medicines to the stakeholders, valuable suggestions, guidance about the medicines were also imparted to them.
