KUCHING, Dec 18 A total of 106 Malaysians landed here last night on a direct flight from Papua New Guinea (PNG) where they had been stranded since October.
The Malaysians consisting of 91 from Sarawak, 10 from Peninsular Malaysia and five from Sabah were immediately placed in quarantine centres in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the state Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) for Covid-19.

NINETY-ONE Sarawakian expatriate workers, who have been stranded in Papua New Guinea since the middle of October, were flown home on a chartered flight last night.
They flew direct from Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby to Kuching International Airport on a chartered Air Niugini Boeing 737 aircraft.

KUCHING, Dec 17 ― Sarawak’s four-day streak of zero Covid-19 cases ended today, after nine new cases were detected, bringing the total number of infections in the state to 1,084 cases.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update statement, said eight of these new cases were classified as imported cases, while the remaining case was a local transmission.
“Of these nine new cases, six were detected in Sibu, two in Kuching and one in Sri Aman,” announced SDMC.
