AP Govt s 1000 MW Solar Project To Ensure 9 Hours Uninterrupted Power To Farmers While Reducing Losses Feb 05, 2021, 11:06 IST The Andhra Pradesh Government’s tender for the development of6,400 MW solar power plant with an aim of reducing the subsidy burden resulting from the supply of uninterrupted free power to farmers across the state has made headlines in the recent past. The process has resulted in Government securing close to 14,000 million units of power per annum at a tariff of 2.48 per kWh, which is the significantly lower than the tariff at which AP Distribution Utilities are procuring power.  Supply of free power to farmers is of paramount importance. However, this entails a huge subsidy burden on the state government. The state is having to incur close to Rs. 10,000 crores as a subsidy to meet the revenue gap of Distribution utilities.

Advertisement Adani Solar Energy Kutchh One Limited (Adani Solar Energy), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has commissioned a 150 MWac solar power project. Despite all the challenges of global pandemic and unprecedented rain and flood in Kutchh, Gujarat, India, the team of experts made it possible to commission the project three months prior to its scheduled commissioning date. This plant has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at Rs.2.67/kWh for a period of 25 years. With this commissioning, AGEL’s total operational renewable capacity grows to 3125 MW. The plant will be connected to the Energy Network Operation Centre that continuously monitors and analyses performance of 80+ solar and wind plants across diverse locations in India.

Adani Solar Energy Kutchh One Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Ltd, has commissioned a 150 MW solar power project. The project was commissioned before time in spite of challenges like the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, and unprecedented rains, floods in Kutchh, said a company statement. This plant has a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at Rs. 2.67/kWh for a period of 25 years. With this commissioning, AGEL’s total operational renewable capacity has now reached 3,125 MW. The plant will be connected to company s state-of-the-art Energy Network Operation Centre that continuously monitors and analyses performance of over 80 solar and wind plants across diverse locations in India.
